Why should we meditate? | | Meditation is one of the most powerful tools available to help us restore the harmony within and to gain access to our body's inner intelligence. In meditation, we rediscover the silence in our mind and make it part of our life. Silence is the birthplace of happiness. It is where we get our bursts of inspiration, our tender feelings of compassion, and our sense of love. | | | | 2. What is Meditation? | Meditation is being aware of the present moment, usually using breath/mantra as an anchor. It is a Spiritual journey reconnecting to our true Self-Reconnecting with the spirit, that flows through everything in creation. Meditation is a process to help us, take our awareness from the level of activity of mind to quieter and quieter state of silence. It is a tool to discover who we are. Meditation is not a static process, simply sitting for an hour in meditative posture. It is a dynamic process of experiencing the spirit/silence to realize our true Self and integrate this Self-knowledge into our everyday life. | | | | 3. Why don't we experience joy/bliss all the time? | Stress is a significant factor affecting our life. Emotional turbulence and lifestyle patterns (eating, sleeping, and working) are major causes of stress. According to Ayurveda, (indigenous Indian Medicine),there are 72000 channels in a network for energy & information to flow within our body. Free flow of energy & information through these channels is blocked by “accumulation” of stress. More stress we accumulate more the blockage that occurs and less the flow of energy & information, thereby affecting our effective levels of functioning in our life. Meditation is a wonderful tool for releasing stress by giving us deep rest. Mediation is a tool to reconnect with our essential state and remember that we are perfect people, healthy, content and happy. Meditation is not an intellectual process but waking up at cellular level and allowing us to fulfill our desires spontaneously. | | | | 4. How practicing meditation can affect our mind? | | consciousness expands and can enjoy our untapped potential. We become more alert and creative. Increased coherence between left and right brain centers creates balance and harmony within our body and hence health starts improving. | | | | 5. How practicing meditation can affect our environment? | Environment influences our body and our body influences the environment. When we meditate regularly we get rid of impurities accumulated in our body and radiate good energy into the environment. We become calmer and peaceful. Anybody who interacts with us experiences joy and peace. There are lots of crime and unwanted things going around us. We cannot change them. But we can change ourselves. When we improve, everybody around us starts to change. When everybody around us changes, Society changes; the Country changes; and the whole World changes. When a group of people meditate, we start to share each other’s coherent energy and benefit. At an individual level, we get more joy and health benefits for ourselves. At an interdependent level, society transforms because of our choices and action Experiments have been conducted and shown that when a large group of people meditate crime rate reduces, and so do hospital admissions. | | | | 6. Primordial Sound Meditation is a meditation technique, which can help you to enrich your life. | | | | | | Introduction to Primordial Sound Meditation | | | | | | 9. What is Primordial Sound Meditation? | Primordial Sound Meditation, is a mantra-based practice that systematically allows you to experience quieter, more peaceful levels of your mind. A mantra is a specific sound, which when used silently, serves as a vehicle to connect you with deeper aspects of your consciousness. This technique originates from ancient yoga tradition of India. Dr Deepak Chopra has revived this authentic process and made it available in a format that can be easily learned and practiced by everyone. | | | | 10. What are Primordial Sounds? | Primordial Sounds are the basic, most essential sounds of nature. (Wind caressing grasses, waves crashing against shores and thunder). Specific primordial sounds are used as mantra in Primordial Sound Meditation. These mantras are personal for each participant. Mantras are chosen on the basis of Vedic mathematics, which determines a specific sound or vibration of the universe at the time and place of your birth. | | | | 11. How does it work? | Every thought is essentially a sound, having vibration and meaning. Primordial sounds are only vibrations and don’t have any meaning. It is the meaning of a thought, which causes our minds to have continuous stream of thoughts. When we silently repeat Primordial Sounds (basic vibrations of the universe) as part of our mantra, since we they don’t have any meaning to hold at the level of mind, we slip beyond thought to the level of pure silence/spirit. Vibration itself wants to draw our awareness to the level of spirit. Practicing meditation is not an intellectual process. It is a simple, natural process. Harder we try difficult it becomes! It has to be practiced effortlessly and innocently. | | | | 12.
